Detailed program

We leave from the point of your choice at 9:30 a.m. sharp and at around 10:30 a.m. we arrive at Gikas Winery. One of the winery’s representatives welcomes us and just afterwards we start the tour at the wineries premises during which we will have the chance to watch a video with the winery’s history. After the tour the wine blending experience starts.

Instructions are given regarding the process of the wine blending and the participants get to know with the tools that will be used (i.e. pipetes, pipes etc.).

Just afterwards participants get acquainted with the herbs and different delicacies that are on the table. The aim is for the guests to identify some aromas and flavors from them in each wine they taste and to make their own pairing of flavors.

Following this guests taste 3 white wines and 3 red wines. For each one of them the relevant information will be given regarding the variety and the visitors will be asked to describe the color, aroma, taste, to distinguish the acidity and intensity of alcohol. All this is noted in a special sous-plat form.

After the overall tasting, everyone decides whether to make a white or red blend or a semi-sweet. With the help of the winemaker, the mixing and testing begin until everyone reaches the taste they prefer.

Afterwards the bottle is selected and bottling begins. The visitor then prepares his own label and this so intriguing and exciting process reaches the end.
